Description
Clouds are gathering over Cadogan House, and the newly turned vampire Merit has no idea whether this is the darkness before dawn or the calm before the storm. The city itself is shaken by unrest due to its paranormal inhabitants, and the state threatens to pass a law mandating the registration of the supernatural. Since vampires came out publicly, the situation has never been so tense. If only they could find a place to hide for a while so that people would stop panicking. And as fate would have it, the water in Lake Michigan suddenly turns black, and only now does things start to get serious. The new mayor of Chicago insists that she has everything under control, but Merit knows that only magic born from the darkest sorcery can change the very essence of nature. She will have to turn to old and new friends to find out who is behind this and stop them before it is too late for both humans and vampires.
