Description
This Czech-language school atlas is designed for geography lessons in primary schools and multi-year grammar schools. It complements the School Atlas of the World, expanding its subject matter and presenting some features and characteristics of the Americas on more detailed maps. The continent is covered from every perspective, including nature, population, history and the economy. Exercise pages offer an enjoyable way to practise the material by creating a map of one’s own, with questions helping pupils label important names and terms independently; teachers can also devise additional questions. The atlas is approved as a textbook by the Czech Ministry of Education. A new photographic supplement, “Photo Journeys,” documents the continent’s nature and life, while the “How Things Grow” page uses illustrations and descriptions to introduce lesser-known crops. In the second edition, whose textbook approval was extended until 2017, all map and statistical data are updated, and the atlas also features a modern new cover. It includes clear physical and political maps, detailed general geography maps, thematic maps of the natural environment, population and economy, an administrative map of the United States and Canada, map-making exercises, an overview of countries and geographical records, photo journeys, information on where crops are grown, and an index.
