Another installment in the comprehensive series of atlas booklets for primary schools and multi-year gymnasiums presents a detailed cartographic treatment of history from overseas voyages to the mid-18th century. The introduction features a practical overview of the most important discoveries of human ingenuity and knowledge, followed by a subsection on overseas discoveries, supplemented by profiles of significant navigators and explorers and a timeline of important historical events. The map section includes a brief characterization of the given period, working questions for students' independent work, and illustrative multicolored maps complemented by colorful illustrations of objects, architecture, art, and ways of life. The maps depict not only territorial and political developments but also focus on other human activities, culture, agriculture, production, and travel. Each chapter is again introduced with a textual section. The title is supplemented by a selective index of names. The atlas is authored by PhDr. Helena Mandelová and her team. From the content: I.
