Description
Doc. MUDr. Otakar Bleha, DrSc. is one of the most prominent Czech endocrinologists. He spent his entire professional life at the 3rd Internal Clinic of the General University Hospital in Prague, where he served for a long time as the deputy head of the clinic. Just as he loved his medical profession, he also loved traveling. During his numerous work and private trips, he visited many countries. In the book 'Endocrinologist', he recalls with perspective and humor his experiences from childhood and adolescence, describes his entire medical career, but primarily focuses on memories from his travels. A crucial part is the description of his journey on a ship, where he worked as a doctor for several months. He also undertook many adventurous expeditions with his wife Bohunka, who is also a doctor, and their two daughters. The author does not shy away from purely personal memories but also comments on current political and social events, giving his memoirs a broader historical value.
