Description
This year, the XIIIth symposium on Arterial Hypertension - Current Clinical Trends is taking place at the New Town Hall in Prague, where leading Czech internists and cardiologists will present their contributions regarding the most common cardiovascular disease - arterial hypertension. This publication includes summaries of their lectures. The selection of topics is traditionally very diverse. The first part of the publication is dedicated to metabolic factors, diabetes mellitus, and subclinical organ damage. This is followed by a section addressing the diagnosis of hypertension, strokes, and the relationship of hypertension to kidney and adrenal diseases. The last third of the publication consists of contributions dealing with the pharmacological aspects of hypertension. Individual authors focus on the use of diuretics in pregnancy, beta-blockers, RAS system blockers, and fixed combinations. All texts take into account the results of the latest clinical research.
