The presented manual discusses the examination of movement functions and the therapy of movement behavior disorders. The author draws from their own practical experiences gained during clinical examinations of individuals affected by movement disorders, as well as from literary data personally verified through practice. The publication outlines the principles that must be followed during clinical physical examinations and therapy of movement disorders. For a therapist to successfully intervene and correct a movement behavior disorder, it is necessary to examine many parameters. The therapist's task is not only to examine the disorder of movement mechanics caused by pathological changes in structure but primarily to assess the dysfunction of the entire movement system. A kinesiological and holistic perspective is essential during the examination, which includes both the commonly used physical-mechanical local approach that focuses on the physical structure of the organism and the mechanics of movement at the site of the disorder, as well as a psychological perspective aimed at evaluating movement function and personality traits and their influence on movement behavior, which can itself cause motor dysfunction.
