Description
Ninety-two-year-old American Emmett Conn, a World War I veteran, suffers from partial memory loss due to a head injury. In the twilight of his life, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and began having terrifying dreams about the harrowing march of Armenians from Turkey to Syria in 1915. In his dreams, he appears as a Turkish gendarme, participating in horrific scenes of human suffering and humiliation. However, he gradually realizes that these are not dreams, but his own memories that are slowly returning to him... along with the image of the Armenian girl he loved. An impressive story about the deceptions and traps of human memory, about forgetting and remembering, about the absurdity of prejudice, about responsibility and forgiveness.
