This book traces the history of the important Avia A-series vehicle, manufactured by Avia in Letňany from 1968 to 2000. It takes readers through the historical events behind the licensing agreement with the French company Saviem and examines the first-generation A15/30 and its versions, the modernized A21/31, and the final generation, the Avia A75. It also offers a look behind the scenes at Avia in Letňany, covering production technologies and the workings of international cooperation. Further chapters focus on buses built on Avia chassis and various special versions, including fire engines, police vehicles, and ambulances. The book also discusses unrealized projects and planned successors to the A-series that never entered serial production, as well as the changes at the company after November 1989, its privatization, and its operation in private hands under the Korean company Daewoo.
