Description
Enter the Czech Arsene Lupin, the gentleman thief. The author originally intended to tell a simple detective story about a thief who robs a scoundrel from the ranks of Czech politicians. But then he couldn't help himself. He began to write about why Mr. Lupen became a thief in the first place. And so unfolds the story of a young charismatic man, born in a factory owner's family during the First Republic, who must flee from the Nazis because his mother is Jewish. After the war, he returns, only to be gradually turned into an enemy of the socialist regime by the communists, who rob him, imprison him, torture him, and ultimately force him to start stealing. Thus, the character of a man emerges who charmingly and delightfully robs the powerful of their money, jewelry, and lovers. A man who becomes a true terror to all those who still believe they are something more than ordinary, hardworking people.
