Description
Etty Hillesum has been evoking such interest and attention since the 1980s, when her diary was published, that she can be considered one of the leading spiritual figures who resonate with today's seekers of God. This young Dutch Jewish woman, who died in Auschwitz in 1943, underwent a captivating journey in the last three years of her only twenty-nine years of life. She was a gifted, lively, even passionate personality, but also full of chaos in which she often got lost. With the help of a therapist, she embarked on self-work, through which she, outside of any confession, came to an encounter with God and, in the dramatic context of the Holocaust, managed to preserve her inner freedom and devoted service to her people.
