Description
The word makom comes from Hebrew. It means place, but it is more of a place in the heart, because the universe is (as they say) mainly about relationships. In Kabbalah, the meaning of the word makom is even more significant; it represents the sixth heaven, where everything is predetermined. In the middle of the sixth heaven is the dark abyss of Daat Beriya, from which a voice emerges that grants knowledge. The book presented here has a simpler goal. It follows up on a book about inner and outer landscapes and in the first part turns to real places: the magical forest near Kuks, the palace in Old Boleslav, the Vojtěšská foundry in Kladno, and to situations where the Balkans are more than all of Europe. We ask here where we live and where we come from. In the second part, titled Zeitgeist, we are more interested in the spirit of the time we actually live in and where we are heading. In the third part, titled Gods, Buddhas, and Dwarfs, we are particularly concerned with the dwarfs, with what transcends us and what does not fit into everyday life at all.
