Description
This Czech-language civics textbook for the sixth year of primary school belongs to a new series for years 6–9, based on Milan Valenta’s popular textbooks. Its central feature is a series of didactic stories linked into a continuing narrative. The textbook contains extensive teaching materials and is complemented by a workbook and a teacher’s guide by I. Havlínová and O. Müller. Some questions and tasks take the form of drama activities. The section “What Else Can You Do?” provides additional information on the topics of the individual chapters, especially extension tasks, some of which are longer-term mini-projects or projects. Diary entries by the two main characters, Roman and Aneta, present the core material and are suitable for writing on the board or copying into a notebook. The textbook fully complies with the Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education and includes witty, lively illustrations by Lukáš Urbánek. The textbook and workbook carry the approval clause of the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
