A mysterious threat from the past is coming to fruition. The second, even more thrilling installment of the Freyja & Huldar series. A time capsule containing the visions of schoolchildren about the future is unearthed on the school playground after ten years. However, one of the messages carries a hateful prediction of the deaths of several people, mentioning only their initials. Should a message from a thirteen-year-old teenager really be taken seriously? Detective Huldar suspects that he has been assigned to investigate this trivial school case just to keep him away from real police work. His last case cost him his professional credibility and his position as head of the department. Nevertheless, he takes the new task seriously and turns to child psychologist Freyja to explore what kind of child could have written such a threatening letter. Additionally, he would like to reconcile and get closer to Freyja. However, the timing is still not right, especially when they suddenly find themselves in the midst of another complicated case. A connection emerges between the letter and a series of recent events: severed hands are found in the hot tub of a family home, and its owner is brutally murdered shortly thereafter.
