Inhalační systémy v léčbě nemocí s chronickou bronchiální obstrukcí – Kašák Viktor (2025)

The inhalation route for administering medications to patients with chronic bronchial obstruction (CBO), which includes bronchial asthma (asthma), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and asthma-COPD overlap syndrome (ACOS), is the method of choice. Inhaled medications act directly in the airways, where they achieve higher concentrations compared to oral administration, with significantly lower risk of side effects and a faster onset of action for rescue medications. It is necessary to individually select the medication (molecule or combination of molecules – dual or triple combinations), inhalation system (IS), and dosing regimen (administering once or twice daily).
Inhalation medications are available in various IS, which have different characteristics and inhalation techniques. Incorrect inhalation technique generates critical errors and leads to treatment failure, or loss of control over the disease.
The previous three editions have been very successful among pulmonologists and other medical specialists.
