Description
A unique feature of infertility is that, unlike all other diagnoses, it is not a diagnosis of the individual, but of a specific couple. In this spirit, it is necessary to approach infertile couples as a whole, rather than isolating the woman and the man. Nevertheless, most current professional literature is based on the perspective of the gynecologist, logically emphasizing the woman. The book 'Reproductive Medicine for Urologists' is the first monograph on the Czech market that thoroughly addresses the issue of the infertile couple from the urologist's perspective, focusing primarily on men with reduced fertility potential in the context of the infertile couple, with the aim of diagnosing and ideally also treating possible reversible causes, thereby ultimately both de-escalating the complexity of assisted reproduction methods used and, in the end, increasing the partner's chances of successful conception. The book also includes chapters discussing the basics of reproductive endocrinology, medical genetics, reproductive gynecology, and assisted reproduction relevant to urologists. Throughout the book, emphasis is placed on clarity and practical application in clinical practice, supported by numerous illustrative case studies.
