Proximal humerus fractures are among the most common fractures encountered by orthopedic surgeons or traumatologists. Osteoporosis is a predisposition for these injuries, which is why their prevalence increases with age, making them typical fractures in older patients, often resulting from trivial falls. The treatment of these fractures is very challenging, particularly in the effort to prevent the development of permanent mobility restrictions. Although nailing fractures is considered a classic procedure, there has been significant development in this technique in the area of proximal humerus fractures only in the last few decades, which significantly improves treatment outcomes. The book by one of the leading Czech orthopedic surgeons is designed as an operational atlas providing perfectly illustrated guides for everyday use. It is an extraordinary publication in our orthopedic and traumatological literature, based on rich experiences with the use of this technique. MUDr. Martin Kloub, Ph.D., serves as the head of the Department of Trauma and Plastic Surgery at the Hospital of České Budějovice.
