The book Anal Canal Squamous Cell Carcinoma addresses the issue of oncological disease from the perspective of etiopathogenesis, diagnostics, prognostic factors, and therapy according to the individual extent of the disease. In the last ten years, there has been a fundamental improvement in treatment outcomes, and achieving a high percentage of its success is also associated with minimizing the side effects of treatment. The use of broad collaboration within a multidisciplinary team and the incorporation of new findings into a personalized therapeutic process provides the opportunity to maintain a high quality of patient care not only during the treatment itself but especially long-term after its completion. The aim of the book is to provide a comprehensive view and facilitate decision-making for colleagues at various stages of the diagnostic and treatment process. Radiotherapy plays a significant role in the curative treatment of anal squamous cell carcinoma, and for this reason, the authors address it in great detail in the book, from defining target volumes and risk organs to treatment planning and toxicity assessment, all the way to follow-up care.
