Léčba pooperační bolesti – group of authors (2021)

The fourth updated and expanded edition of the successful monograph provides a basic overview of the issues for all healthcare professionals who come into contact with patients in the perioperative period. The authors present recommendations for the treatment of patients divided according to the expected intensity of postoperative pain, as well as the necessary basic theoretical foundations. There are also chapters addressing the specifics of postoperative analgesia in children, breastfeeding mothers, individuals with chronic pain, geriatric and outpatient patients. The concluding chapter deals with the organization of postoperative pain treatment in healthcare facilities in the Czech Republic. The recommendations provided are designed as possible solutions for certain model situations. Specific procedures remain the responsibility of the attending physician. With the increasing education of nurses, it is undeniable that they will have an increasingly significant role in monitoring and providing postoperative analgesia. The authors believe that this book will also be a useful source of information for them and other interested parties, such as students.
