Ultrazvuk v otorinolaryngologii – group of authors (2021)

The monograph 'Ultrasound in Otorhinolaryngology' summarizes the current state of the application of ultrasound technologies in the field of head and neck. The book is intended to serve as a basic educational text for preparation for specialization training in relevant fields (otorhinolaryngology, maxillofacial surgery, endocrinology, etc.), as well as for everyday clinical practice. With the aim of practical use, the theory is limited to the necessary minimum that allows for an understanding of the principles of using ultrasound in the diagnosis of pathological conditions. The richly illustrated text should facilitate the path to the practical implementation of targeted diagnostics and therapy (FNAB, ultrasound-guided surgery, ultrasound-focused surgery) and, not least, the use of harmonic scalpels, CUSA, and acoustic rhinometry. The preparation of the book involved experts from various otorhinolaryngological clinics of the medical faculties of Charles University (from the Military University Hospital, FN Motol, and FNKV), as well as from many departments of other fields (dermatovenereology, neurosurgery, neurology, endocrinology).
