Spondyloartritidy – group of authors (2021)

The book provides a detailed and comprehensive description of the group of spondyloarthritis, both in terms of the relatedness of these diseases and their phenotypic diversity. The issue includes ankylosing spondylitis, non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis, psoriatic arthritis, reactive arthritis, and arthritis associated with chronic intestinal inflammation. A special chapter is dedicated to the so-called extracellular manifestations of spondyloarthritis, and therefore specialists from the fields of gastroenterology, dermatology, and ophthalmology were invited to contribute to the authorship. Separate chapters address the genetic aspects, and in the diagnostic section, the issues of diagnosis and classification. This chapter includes subsections on imaging methods, including new methodologies and the issue of biomarkers. The content of the second part of the book is the therapy of spondyloarthritis, which is discussed from all angles, i.e., both non-pharmacological treatment (including the importance of exercise) and pharmacological and surgical treatment. A significant portion is also dedicated to biological therapy. Both the results of already established drugs and those of drugs being tested and close to registration are discussed.
