The reason for writing this publication, contributed to by our leading experts in immunology and reproductive medicine, is the growing number of evidence that improper immune function in the reproductive system is one of the key causes of fertility disorders. Today, it is estimated that 15% of couples with reduced fertility have an imbalance specifically in immunological reactions during the reproductive period. The field of reproductive immunology thus includes the diagnosis of immunologically conditioned reduced fertility, as well as methods of immunological therapy.
