Cardiovascular diseases are the dominant cause of morbidity and mortality, and every doctor, regardless of specialization, regularly comes into contact with patients suffering from heart and vascular diseases. The book offers a comprehensive overview of examination procedures for patients with heart and vascular diseases so that the doctor not only recalls the basics of propedeutics but also understands the indications, results, and pitfalls of the individual methods that they regularly indicate and use. The text is richly supplemented with illustrations and visual documentation. Even after merely browsing through the book, an inexperienced doctor or medical student should have a good overview of what the diagnostic process for cardiovascular diseases can entail. Complex pathophysiological considerations and algorithms have been deliberately omitted from the publication. The reason is both the effort for maximum simplicity of the presented text and the fact that therapeutic procedures develop much more rapidly over time and, for many diseases, necessarily become the domain of narrow specialists. The publication aims to reach all those who practice good outpatient or clinical medicine without exception.
