Bronchial asthma is one of the most significant diseases of our time, both in its medical and social consequences. The perspective on asthma and its therapy is changing significantly at this time. A number of very effective medications are available, and their proper administration can greatly positively influence the disease. Despite the popularity that asthma has gained, we still frequently encounter patients in our clinics whose asthma is not properly and sufficiently treated, and who, due to unstable disease, often have an unnecessarily lower quality of life. The previous two editions of this successful publication have significantly influenced therapeutic approaches and practices in the treatment of bronchial asthma in our countries. The third edition reflects the development of pharmacotherapy in recent years, emphasizing both new drug groups and new molecules and preparations.
