This monograph discusses serious disorders of calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium metabolism, that is, conditions where the doctor decides on the life of the patient. A separate chapter is also dedicated to the differential diagnosis of hypercalcemia and hypocalcemia, that is, the issue of diseases where there is a secondary increase in parathyroid hormone levels. The aim of the monograph is to provide an overview of the current knowledge about calcium-phosphate metabolism and calciotropic hormones and to contribute through original works to the resolution of some specific questions.
