This current and practical monograph introduces readers to the issues of targeted therapy and immunotherapy for melanoma, against the backdrop of a comprehensible explanation of its molecular biology and immunology. In addition to currently used therapeutic approaches, the book also describes the near-term prospects of immunotherapy and targeted treatment for melanoma. In the introductory section, readers will become acquainted with an overview of the most significant genetic, biological, and immunological characteristics of various types and forms of melanoma, with particular attention to the cellular signaling pathways that are crucial for the onset and further development of melanoma. The second part focuses on a clear description of the mechanisms of action of the various methods of immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and biological treatment that currently exist and have been approved for clinical use, as well as those that are in Phase III clinical development. The third and fourth parts of the monograph deal with the existing results of the use of individual therapeutic options in clinical studies.
