Description
For several types of pulmonary hypertension, effective treatment is now available; however, it makes much more sense for patients at the beginning of the disease's development. Unfortunately, it is common for many patients to be diagnosed late, often already showing signs of right-sided heart failure. Echocardiography represents a first-line method that is widely available and highly effective in detecting pulmonary hypertension. The book by two leading Czech cardiologists is an instructive guide that enables quick practical mastery of this otherwise difficult diagnosis. The authors' wish is to shift the diagnosis of the disease to earlier stages on a broad scale, when there is the greatest chance of long-term therapeutic success. This publication is the first in a planned series of practical guides dedicated to modern echocardiography.
