VATS (video-assisted thoracoscopic) lobectomy is one of the most modern techniques of anatomical lung resection. The method meets all current criteria for minimally invasive lung resections. The book is a practical textbook that provides guidance and insight into the indications, techniques, and tactics of operations. It includes the basics of anatomy and endoscopic anatomy of the thorax. It covers preoperative preparation, the fundamentals of anesthesia, and postoperative care. The actual operations are divided into five chapters corresponding to the lung lobes. Each chapter describes the classical approach, the approach with mini-thoracotomy with a thoracic retractor, the VATS method without a thoracic retractor, and the pure VTS (video-thoracoscopic) approach. The procedure is then summarized in bullet points, highlighting the key moments of the operation. The text and notes are supplemented with diagrams and, importantly, photographs from the actual operations.
