The publication by a collective of leading Czech cardiologists, EKG in Acute Cardiology, has garnered well-deserved interest among both cardiologists and internists and intensivists. Following the success of the first edition, the authors have now expanded and supplemented the publication, taking advantage of the very positive feedback from the professional community associated with a number of themes and suggestions. Although electrocardiography is now considered a completely routine method, whose intimate knowledge is generally assumed, the situation in real practice is unfortunately quite the opposite. Correct interpretation of ECG curves is fundamentally very difficult. This makes the original concept of this publication all the more valuable, as it does not merely present a list of typical images like most 'classical' textbooks, but carefully explains the process by which we arrive at the correct diagnosis. The book thus enables readers to learn how to respond clinically to each image appropriately and adopt optimal therapeutic measures.
