Není bezvýchodných situací aneb příběhy lidí s diabetem – group of authors (2014)

Current diabetology has a very effective and broadly structured pharmacotherapeutic "arsenal," which, along with modern technology, has significantly changed the lives of a large number of patients with diabetes. Modern medicine can extend the period without complications for patients and thus ensure a long-lasting quality of life comparable to that of a completely healthy person. However, after a longer period, the success of diabetes treatment increasingly depends on the patient's willingness to fight the disease. Psychology and psychiatry, however, remain underestimated topics in diabetology. Therefore, Doc. Štechová created an original concept for a book aimed at both professionals and the general public – stories of people illustrating the various situations that patients with diabetes and their families face, always accompanied by expert commentary from a psychologist, diabetologist, or psychiatrist. The overall tone of the book is positive and motivating, intended to encourage patients not to be afraid to address their problems in a timely manner.
