Angiographic methods have become not only a pillar of radiological diagnostics over the last two decades but also significantly contribute to therapeutic procedures. This practically oriented publication focuses on aortography and arteriography of peripheral arteries as well as phlebography, covering both non-invasive and invasive procedures. Non-invasive methods for examining the vascular system include Doppler ultrasound, CT angiography, and MR angiography. The invasive method involves the application of positive or negative contrast material directly into the lumen of the vessels and their classic X-ray imaging. The arterial system can be visualized either by direct percutaneous puncture or by the Seldinger catheterization technique.
