Description
The world-famous stories of good soldier Švejk continue at last. The fates of Josef Švejk and his friends, Mrs. Müller, innkeeper Palivec, cook Jurajda, sapper Vodička, and others unfold after World War II... The text known from copies and excerpts in the Bestseller magazine is coming to the bookseller's market. The fates of good soldier Švejk after World War II is a pastiche book by Josef Jaroslav Marek, who, as stated in the preface, is the grandson of Švejk's friend, one-year volunteer Marek. The book loosely follows Jaroslav Hašek's four-part novel. It was written during the normalization period and reflects the humorous Hašek-Švejk style of the 1950s.
