The book Scars Remain / The Legacy of Evil Still Alive deals with the theme of the children of political prisoners and indirectly connects to the title Unhealed Wounds of the Nation, which was published in 2012, where this theme was only mentioned in passing. Because the life journey of children cannot be separated from their parents, the new book, like the previous one, also follows the lives of women and the persecution of families. It does not overlook the situation at home after release, nor how the new state was reflected in the children and how the lives and relationships of the parents evolved; thus, the book is also tied to the theme of the 'mukl' (political prisoner). The timeline extends to the normalization period and even to the present day. The families of political prisoners remained a somewhat forgotten, but to some extent overlooked dimension of communist persecution after 1990. They received much less attention than the prisoners themselves. The children found themselves even more sidelined than their mothers. This is what the book seeks to rectify. Similar to the title Unhealed Wounds of the Nation, it is not just about depicting the narrative parts of life. The reader also delves deep beneath the visible surface into the sensitive inner layers of personal relationships: prisoner/woman, prisoner/child, child/mother, prisoner/parents.
