Description
The book offers an extraordinary insight into dance archaeology. Through nine stops (realized performances), it looks into the history of dance art from the times of the Renaissance, Baroque, and Romanticism. The extraordinary authenticity of the individual performances is enhanced by the chosen environment, period costumes, and decorations (four stops, for example, took place in the unique Baroque theater of the Český Krumlov Castle). The texts are authored by Prof. Mgr. Helena Kazárová, Ph.D., a choreographer and dance historian, who also prepared and directed the individual performances based on period sources. Professional dancers from the Hartig Ensemble - Dances and Ballets of Three Centuries performed. Photographed by Libor Sváček.
