Description
The 25th title from the "Pocket Guides" series aims to reveal to readers the current state of brewing in the Czech Republic and show them that Czech beer is not just the classic and well-known bottom-fermented lagers. Readers will discover that the beer world here is incredibly rich and that it is possible to choose from many (often exotic) flavors. The first part of the guide is dedicated to beer itself – its history, production, classification by production technologies, beer consumption, its impact on human health, beer and culture, etc. Everything is complemented by a wealth of photographs, diagrams, sketches, and maps. The main part of the publication is devoted to the places where our "national drink" is created – breweries and microbreweries throughout the Czech Republic. On clear maps of individual regions, readers will find 412 breweries (as of April 31, 2017), with more than one hundred and fifty of them featuring full-page presentations, which include the brewery's logo and labels of the offered beer brands. The presentations also serve as an invitation to visit the brewery, tour the production facilities, and taste its products.
