Description
The narrator, while hiking through the picturesque Šumava region, randomly comes across a historic farm where he meets a man who looks just like his deceased friend Láďa. He even has the same movements. However, the man does not respond when addressed. The narrator is significantly unsettled by this encounter. On the way to the train, he reminisces about nearly thirty years spent with Láďa. It is a humorous yet very sad history. He then investigates the circumstances of his death to uncover a series of inconsistencies. In the end, it turns out that his friend, although lying on his deathbed, miraculously survived. But he is now someone completely different...
