Description

- nutrition as medicine - healing and therapeutic means - advice for various diseases - therapeutic fasts The essence of a 1000-year-old healing doctrine The teachings of Saint Hildegard of Bingen are as relevant today as they were 1000 years ago. Among the most important healing means is proper nutrition – as well as the way food is delivered to the body. The foundation of Saint Hildegard's healing doctrine is spelt, fennel, and further spices – galangal, thyme, and bertram. A person can gain and maintain health based on a spiritual attitude towards themselves, their surroundings, and the Creator, as well as through the right measure (discretio). Cleansing the body and spirit through therapeutic fasting, bloodletting, and cupping, meditation, prayer, and relaxation is also important. Peter Pukownik, born in 1939, is a healer, physiotherapist, masseur, and author of books. He is also accredited to perform therapeutic baths. Since 1971, he has been running his own practice in the Franconian Forest and has published several books on medicinal herbs, healing with leeches, and especially on the healing doctrine of Saint Hildegard of Bingen. Since 1974, he has been learning from Father Willigis Jäger. This book summarizes the essence of his thirty years of practice.
