Description
Anja Tochtermann does not consider illnesses to be a "derailment," but rather attempts by our bodily mental organism to achieve balance. Against this backdrop, classic childhood diseases are merely transitional stages on the path to greater integrity. When we proactively support vital energy, these transitional stages can be managed relatively easily, and often the illness may not even break out, as the necessary developmental steps can be taken without such crises. Each childhood illness represents certain themes. Measles pertains to the healing of femininity, while mumps relates to the healing of masculinity. These illnesses also appear to serve as important valves for the natural expulsion of foreign substances, as seen with three-day fever and chickenpox, or they help to disperse collective legacies, such as whooping cough. Each illness is described in detail along with its symptoms, including experiences of maturation and learning, and especially holistic preventive measures. The main theme of this book is the understanding that illness is not necessary, and when it does occur, it is unwise to fight it. It is much better to strengthen vitality; the body can handle everything else on its own. The book speaks of genuine healing, attesting to new possibilities in holistic medicine, unburdened by prejudices.
