Description
Mandalas are a very ancient tool for meditation. Their origins trace back to Indian and Tibetan traditions. In the Christian context, they can take the form of circular images found in the rose windows of medieval churches. The word "mandala" comes from the ancient Indian language and means "circle." The circle is an unchanging form of a mandala. Inside the circle, structures find their order, which have a center and either expand outward from it or toward it. Mandalas can be found not only in paintings and artistic objects but also in nature, for example, in flowers, spider webs, tree rings, or in the shapes created by raindrops falling on the water surface.
