The plot of the book takes the reader to a small country somewhere in Africa, where a global anthropological congress is taking place. An accredited journalist frantically navigates the jungle of opinions that reigns over questions of human origins. With his common sense, he discovers that renowned professors are mostly trapped by a specific find or theory and are unable to see the problem in its entirety. However, a delegate then speaks at the congress, turning everything upside down. Although it is later stated that he is an inmate of a mental institution, our journalist follows his trail. On the edge of the Sahara, in a building of an institute for the mentally ill, he finds a closed group of highly intelligent people who have made a fundamental discovery. After targeted training, the journalist learns that a person, plant, or any object does not vanish into the abyss of time. Everything that was, is, and will be exists simultaneously on the circumference of the Circle of Eternal Returns.
