Description
Mandala is a very ancient tool for meditation. Its origins trace back to Indian and Tibetan traditions. In Christian circles, they can take the form of circular images found in the rose windows of medieval churches. The word 'mandala' comes from the ancient Indian language and means 'circle'. The circle is the unchanging form of the mandala. Within the circle, structures find their order, having a center that either expands outward or draws inward. Mandalas can be found not only in paintings and artistic objects but also in nature, such as in flowers, spider webs, tree rings, or in the shapes created by raindrops falling on a water surface.
