Description
Open-air museums of folk architecture, or skanzens, have been experiencing a revival in our country in recent years. New areas are being created, and old ones are being expanded with new sections. The production of folklore ensembles, demonstrations of folk customs, crafts, menus, and traditional agriculture enliven the exhibitions and give them atmosphere. This publication includes not only skanzens but also some exhibitions in individual folk architecture buildings at their original locations, as well as the South Bohemian village of Holašovice, which, although not a museum exhibition, is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List as a complex of folk architecture.
