Description
After two professionally guided interpretative publications, Cosmic Memory (2002) and Does God Exist? (2004), the now 75-year-old Miloslav Král reflects on his lifelong and often paradoxical journey to the truth and evaluates both the lawful and unexpected life events that led to the transformation of a recognized theoretical scientist-atheist, nihilist, and active member of the Sisyphus skeptics club into a deeply believing, or better, convinced person. A crucial part of this dramatic transformation was the author's encounter with his own unconscious and the realization of the existence of divinity, for which he uses the Jungian term numinous. This self-initiatory process, which had two phases, and its consequences are given considerable attention; the 'scientifically' detailed description of these experiences in the form of self-causation forms an important reading basis for understanding Král's earlier theoretical books. A significant contribution for lay readers and experts alike is the fact that the author, due to his deep experience, does not separate science from life, and scientific rigor can here – as rarely – merge with personal experience and confirm its validity. Just as in Král's previous publications, the text is interspersed with ethereal paintings by Zdeněk Hajný, which balance the exact nature of the words with mystical dreaminess...
