Description

This Czech-language book by Douglas Murray describes and clearly explains the tragic problems emerging in the Western world as a result of losing direction and a sense of meaning in human existence. It examines a new utopian ideology of social justice that uncompromisingly seeks to restructure society around the supposed rights of racial and sexual minorities, as well as women in the majority. According to Murray, this ideology has entered mainstream politics, taken over public discourse and become a new form of state legitimacy. Confused and absurd, it leads to what he calls mass madness, with people reacting feverishly, collectively and vulgarly. The author also discusses the influence of global American companies, particularly Google, Amazon, Twitter and Facebook, which have gained the power to determine what people know, think about and discuss. He explores the paradoxes and contradictions of this movement, including its attempt to suppress common sense, and examines terms such as “the LGBTQ community,” “white privilege,” “toxic masculinity” and “transphobia.” Murray offers a way to resist so-called political correctness and argues that saving Western civilization, reason and freedom depends on distinguishing what is valid in the emancipation of women, homosexuals and racial minorities from the point at which society is clearly heading towards madness.
