Description
This Czech-language thriller follows the May mothers, a group of women whose children were all born in May and who meet twice a week in a Brooklyn park to escape the exhausting routine of motherhood. One hot evening in July, they enjoy a drink at a fashionable bar while one of their children is kidnapped. Winnie, a single mother, reluctantly left her six-week-old son Midas with a student babysitter after her friends persuaded her not to be overly anxious. When Midas disappears, the police ask disturbing questions and the ruthless media turns Winnie's private life into a feast. Although the other women have reservations about the reserved Winnie, three of them decide to do everything they can to help her. Carefully hidden secrets emerge, friendships begin to fall apart, and marriages are put to severe tests.
