Description
The district town is a humorous mosaic of a community that has left the rural rhythm of nature, yet is far from the anonymous urban mass. This communal solidarity, which we no longer recognize today, lives on the fleeting excitements of its small world. Poláček mocks the pettiness and malice of its members (and was punished for it with a ban on visiting his hometown), but even so, today, from the anecdotal observations of this brilliant observer, a bit of the kind order of a conservative yesterday breathes upon us – the inhabitants of the cold, impersonal world of the 21st century.
