Latinsko/český slovník – group of authors (2016)

The new, revised edition of a proven dictionary, created by a team of experienced authors, presents about 30,000 Latin words and phrases and 80,000 Czech equivalents. The dictionary includes not only classical Latin but also expands the vocabulary with expressions from post-classical Latin, from the works of Hus and Comenius, and even legal and medical terms commonly used in practice. Each entry provides a comprehensive picture of the possible meanings of the word and its phraseological connections, supported by quotes from authors along with their Czech translations. Explanations contribute to grammatical understanding, often also from case syntax. The dictionary is primarily intended for high school students in the humanities, but it will also serve university students well and, of course, anyone who encounters Latin in their profession or hobby.
