Description
The revised and expanded edition of the practical dictionary brings about 8,000 entries in the Modern Greek-Czech section and more than 10,000 entries in the Czech-Modern Greek section. This part is somewhat more comprehensive due to the fact that a similar dictionary is still lacking in the Czech market. The dictionary has been supplemented with the most commonly used expressions of contemporary spoken Greek and with abbreviations of institutions from both countries. Based on the latest Greek language reform, the spelling has been modernized, and a brief overview of grammar, including a phonetic section, has been added on both sides. The dictionary will be welcomed not only by philologists and students of this language but undoubtedly also by a large part of our public and tourists, who will find it a useful companion during their travels to Greece – the cradle of European civilization.
