The process of European integration also affects the profession of a doctor. As part of cooperation between European medical faculties, programs for international exchanges, internships, and hospital practices are being developed. The aim of this guide is to practically help medical students, doctors, and other healthcare professionals quickly acquire the professional vocabulary in English so that they can communicate easily with English-speaking patients or manage English-written documentation. However, the guide can also be useful for foreign students in finding suitable Czech equivalents. The first part introduces the basic vocabulary needed to obtain a complete medical history and conduct a thorough examination. The second part contains 21 case studies describing a wide range of urgent conditions that doctors commonly encounter. The third part includes additional thematically diverse conversations.
