An updated edition of the textbook that enables practical mastery of contemporary Russian in both spoken and written forms, opening up pathways for students to take their final exams or state language tests. 22 lessons are based on various thematic areas and contain stylistically diverse texts – journalistic, popular and theoretical, conversational, and artistic. A strength of the textbook is thematically organized vocabulary, expanded beyond the lesson. Communicative exercises lead to mastery of more extensive language expressions. The appendices of the textbook contain methodological guidance and an answer key to exercises. The textbook includes audio recordings of texts and exercises on two audio CDs. This publication is intended for both regular and intensive courses for those who have already completed the basic level of language instruction, as well as for self-learners who need to refresh and deepen their knowledge of Russian. The goal of the textbook is to achieve proficiency in Russian at an advanced level (C1 to C2 of the European Language Framework).
