The textbook is intended for students in the 3rd year of secondary technical schools focused on engineering. It can also be used for other graduation programs with a mechanical focus. The textbook addresses how heat affects physical and chemical processes, the acquisition of heat through combustion, and investigates the most efficient ways to utilize heat in thermal machines. To facilitate understanding of the theory, the textbook includes 67 solved examples and 57 unsolved examples for students' home preparation. After the theoretical introduction, a methodologically correct and generally applicable algorithm for the task is always provided.
